Blurb

Eva, a young woman living in northern Vermont, inherits her parent’s farm at a terrible cost. Now she must focus on protecting what she’s received. As she transforms the house where she grew up into a new environment for new memories, an event in town propels her to challenge her community. As she seeks justice, love finds her, as her quiet, orderly life unravels.

When a dear friend is hurt under mysterious circumstances, Eva must choose between truth and friendship, risking not only the loss of new love, but the old love of her family and friends.

Travel with Eva as she faces many obstacles in this first book of The Vinehart Farm Stories.

Review

Vinehart FarmVinehart Farm by Lisa Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

***I voluntarily reviewed this book for Katsindiebookblog, and I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book.*** This was not particularly a great book for me. Not saying it wasn’t well written or bad for others, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. That being said, it was very well written, the descriptions can easily put you in the place, as well as feeling what the characters are feeling. Eva just recently lost her parents, and is working on her grief and sorrow of her loss. While working on that, she is also working on her house one room at a time, making it new and vibrant.
Unbeknownst to her, she is thrown into a community “battle”. She starts writing, and because of her stating facts and her feelings, she gets pushed more in the community then she really wants to. Eva’s High School friend comes for a visit, and you can definitely see there is some kind of strong feelings between these 2. Could we be looking at an HEA? Can HS friends turn to lovers?
Like I mentioned before, this isn’t a book I typically read, but don’t let that deter you into reading this story. It’s a very homey, loving book. The descriptions are fabulous and you feel like you are really there. For someone who loves country, wholesome books. I would highly recommend this
